Hakurei quick fry

Hakurei Quick Fry

Omar tasted one of these and said “Oh Wow! Tastes like zucchini. It has good flavor.”

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Thinly slice 3 - 5 hakurei turnips.
  2. In a frying pan, melt butter, then add 1/2 cup chopped alliums (the plant family comprised of scallions, shallots, garlic and onions).
  3. Once the alliums are swetting, add thinly sliced hakurei turnips, as well as any chopped kohlrabi greens, arugula, or kale, small broccoli spears, or really anything else fry-able in your crisper.
  4. Sauté (medium heat) for 10 minutes.
  5. Add salt and pepper, balsamic vinegar, and tamari to taste, as well as any herbs and spices you may desire.

Casey expects this to be filling enough for himself for lunch and that boy can eat! Serves: one medium-sized farmer
